Catch the 7:00 AM Shinkansen arrive Yuzawa 8:13. From there it's twenty minutes by bus or taxi to Kagura. I used to keep a car in the Yuzawa station. Lot of vertical, lot of runs, lot of snow. Not as much steep as you would probably like, but darn good. Lot of off piste. Very easy day trip.
