100,000 miles in 30 days?

Holiday musing...

The notion of taking a January off to obtain SE status has crossed my mind. Can't do it in 2012, but could in 2013, although of course it would always be tough to measure the value and logic of doing it. (To give credit where it is due, my thinking grew out of the references, a couple of weeks ago, to Dorian's heroic SYD efforts a few years back.)

By rough, purely speculative calculation, I could do the 100,000 miles within one month, allowing enough time between flights to recuperate to a certain extent. And, again very roughly, it would take as little as $9,000 for the flights, plus the cost of hotels, airport parking and so on.

Surely someone else has tried this type of thing. What's the earliest in the year that someone has achieved SE status? What's the lowest cost for doing it? (And of course, the answers will give some clues for destinations, I'm sure.)

This would all be on my own time and my own dime, which is where I start to question the logic of the idea. Just because something is possible doesn't mean it makes sense. And yes, my wife has already given her opinion.
