As for food, SQ had very limited options. EK has a full buffet breakfast. This does, again, come down somewhat to demographics, in that a large percentage of SQ's breakfast options are local/ Asian dishes, while EK serves up more international fare.

I'm not a huge fan of champagne, and I certainly prefer a good "champagne" not made in France that everyone still calls champagne, but that it cannot call itself that due to some silly legal situation.
Codorniu is the best stuff I've ever had, and lo and behold... it's made in Spain.
As for food, I have never, ever been to a SQ lounge in the morning so I really cannot comment. Plus I don't eat breakfast in general. At all.
The only time I've been to the lounge (on countless occasions) is at night, as all the flights I take to Europe or Australia are quite late. Food-wise I prefer to eat earlier, as lounge food is never going to be a substitute for a true meal. But in terms of drinks I like the SKL. ^
