Isn't this all a bit self-righteous? Does that mean everyone who thinks it is poor show to ask for an upgrade always pays the asking price for everything? So when shopping at a market? When buying a new or second-hand car.....you always pay the initial asking price I assume? You never try to negotiate a discount in a business environment for a quantity buy?
Your examples are generally before the transaction takes place, whereas as my OP is when the financial transaction has been completed, therefore I believe the time for negotiating price/terms has passed.
