That the laminated card of allowed cards is incorrect is a fault with AA/Citibank and nit the agent imo
Paying and backing off is bad suggestion, because when you pay you sign that you agree with the charge. I am not saying you can't find exceptions, I am just pointing out bad advice.
Regarding compensation - if agent problem, minor compensation. If systemic problem, then much more significant compensation. You agree?
