As for purchasing a Day Pass, how would the OP later prove that it was for himself and not for a third guest he was bringing into the club? The rules allow for two guests.

Citi changed the card layout and it no longer matches what the agent is given to determine access . agent refused access

This seems like a systemic issue rather than an agent issue to me
