Sometimes I really do find your posts hilarious. In this situation, there is more than one way to skin a cat:

1) If the agent had swiped the card, her computer screen would have shown he was a member.
2) If the agent had inputted the OP's AAdvantage number in the computer, her screen would have shown he was a member.

As for purchasing a Day Pass, how would the OP later prove that it was for himself and not for a third guest he was bringing into the club? The rules allow for two guests.
