In the summer of 2000 oneWorld had a promo for 100,000 miles if you hit all six continents on OW airlines. Having nothing else to do on July weekends, I went for it. My Australian stop was Perth, the quickest and cheapest place to reach from Singapore.
I was there for two and a half hours and never left airport property, though I passed immigration and walked around the parking lot in front of the terminal. However, having spoken to several people on the flights to and from, I am sure it would be a wonderful place to return to for a bit longer. I still have a little "Your Guide to Perth and Fremantle" I picked up and would like to use it.
So, if anyone is planning a party there, I'm game! Besides, if you're in North America, think of all the miles. Perth is the furthest place in the world from Boston that you can reach on a major airline!
