The inbound aircraft (G-BNLX, BA119) got diverted to Chennai [Madras] and return flight was cancelled, so she got rerouted via BOM to get her home. Small issue was that no one told her about the nightmares of connecting in BOM and there was no ground support assistance on arrival to get her to the International terminal, and so on. She got home some 12hrs late.
The issue of ground support aside (not the first time this has happened to her this year, as similar occured when she & I were travelling in Peru): can someone confirm why the inbound aircraft diverted? thebasource.com suggests it was a tech issue leading to a divert to MAA, but she was told it was due to poor visibility in Bangalore - which seemed odd, as her flight out to BOM got away without any problem.
Thanks in advance for assitance.
She would have gotten out to BOM from BLR a few hours later than when the BA flight was supposed to land..and the visibility could have become better.
BOM is horrible to connect for anyone. Next time ask to be connected via DEL or MAA or HYD if this ever happens.
