I applaud cabin crew who tell ill mannered passengers to get their feet off the bulkhead. I think it's disgusting and disrespectful.

Would you expect someone to come into your house and put their feet on the walls?

The bulk of shorthaul cabin crew are professional, courteous and a pleasure to fly with. There's bound to be an occasional grump, or someone having a bad day, but fortunately it's very very rare.
