I've never had a problem using my Fido phone in YYZ. I made phone calls and received text messages in T3 yesterday without any interruptions.

I don't think it's possible for the cell companies to have a "common infrastructure" due to the fact that they each use a different technology. (CDMA, TDMA, GSM)
