BNZ could have simply introduced a standalone Debit Card that's linked to Airpoints account. If this was indeed such a great product, why would NZ worry that no one would apply for it? And we Gold/Gold Elite members won't then need to carry a separate Star Gold Lounge Card.
I doubt NZ will be able to issue the same card in Australia as it's illegal to issue a banking product without consumers' consent.
