TATL W fares booking into E on domestic DL segments?

Yesterday I booked yet another transatlantic W fare over the phone. The outbound domestic segment booked into E and the return into Y. However, everything is together under the same W fare basis, so the fare isn't split. I had to do this one over the phone as Delta doesn't offer my CDG-XXX-CDG flights on its website.

I have spoken to three reps at the PM line, two at international reissue, and I've even dropped a note to DeltaAssist. All of them are asserting that E is the correct booking class for both domestic segments, and that Y was given in error on the return. Two even told me that all W fares should book into E on DL-operated segments. Every mock booking I do online, however, still has such flights booking into Y inventory with the "upgrade available" message.

Has something changed? I don't stand a chance at an upgrade from E when crediting to Flying Blue, but an upgrade from Y is nearly a sure thing. Earning 100% mileage over 25% for SEA-ATL-SEA isn't a small matter, either...
