After getting tired of constantly diminishing returns from being an SQ FF for 12 years (9 of them as solitaire), I decided to jump ship to EK. So I booked my first flight on Nov 25, 2011 and after that came across this post.

Feeling I had nothing to loose, I sent in a request the same day to Skywards Customer Service. I got a reply on Dec 1 that they had forwarded my request to Singapore (my home base). I got a call from them yesterday (from Mumbai of all places) saying that I am now a gold member!

I do understand that there are good and bad aspects of any organisation, so here's hoping that I experience more positives than negatives with EK. Its a good start anyway.
