DIY Priority Boarding

I was the BA961 out of Munich on Tuesday as a Silver with a guest, and keen to show him all the bells and whistles of my status. I should note that our flight out of LHR had been superb (Grey Goose in the GC Lounge!) so expectations were high.

Anyway, after an underwhelming lounge visit, we prepared for boarding. I'm still not 100% comfortable with 'cutting it fine' so we went down for the published boarding time even though I had seen on my iPhone that there was a 10 min delay. The lounge dragon told us it was still on time so off we trotted.

Anyway, we ended up being down at the gate for a good 20-25 mins before boarding commenced, and when it came it was everyone at once for a single agent to scan, no priority, not even for Club. As we were in Duty Free at the time, by the time we got back there was a massive queue.

So, the rub: we saw a few people head over to the front of the queue to wait at right-angles to the main group, by the gate exit. We joined them, to the very dirtiest of looks, and were on the plane 5 mins later.

Am I bad person?
