Thats funny , had the same room.
Saw the same bad craftmanship as you. Also another funny thing: You can not turn the main light in the bedroom off without switching the main light in the living room off.
Somehow, we worked out how to do it......have no idea HOW we did it though! And the whole lighting thing seems to be on a timer - sometimes the lights would just turn off, by themselves.
The suite is SO dark that you need lights on 24/7
