Just came back from an eight night stay.
Got a great rate so was happy to give the hotel one more chance after having a very ordinary stay last Christmas.
The renovations have been tastefully done.
I used a suite upgrade and got room 1648.
Attention to detail definitely was not a high priority - silly little things like the wardrobe being too small in width so the clothes are hit whenever the sliding door is opened/closed; tiling sloppily done; ceiling recessed lighting not pushed in properly and dirty handprints on ceiling etc etc I know these are silly little things but a good project manager would have picked these things up and corrected them.
Club staff are friendly and helpful.
Wine there is definitely overpriced ($9 for very ordinary house wine)
Food was nice. Not alot of choice but nice.
GHNYC offers its guests the use of FREE cell phones. We borrowed two of them to stay in touch with our son as he discovered NYC. Such a great service for people who come from overseas and don't want HUGE bills when they return home Calls and messages between the Hyatt phones are free. And 49 cents/minute for other calls (VERY cheap rate to call Australia)
Hope I find a great deal for our next years pre Christmas visit!!!!!
