As others have said, your child's ticket may end up pretty pricey if you are using your miles in BE. Hard to swallow, especially if you are going to have your child in your lap for that entire flight. Good luck (honestly).
We went through this recently and made the decision to book a seat (at 100k + ~$70 in taxes RT) for my 16 month old rather than pay the $1000 AF wanted for an infant ticket, for IAD-CDG-VCE and return in J.
