When Alaska operates 747s and hubs with 600-1000 flights a day, you can hold Delta to the same standard.
I don't check bags often but as SkyPriority my bag is one of the first on the carousel. DTW yields bags pretty consistently in 18-25 minutes after the first passenger steps off the plane. Fifty minutes is an outlier - and not acceptable to me for any domestic arrival. Whether one thinks that's a compensable failure is another question, but a search on 'compensation' will yield a lengthy thread where people get miles for much less, IMHO.
