The move to T2 is temporary - the Airport paid AA quite a lot of money to facilitate the move, with awareness they would ultimately go to T1. In San Francisco years, it might be in the 2020s.

If only all of SFO was combined behind security.
But when AA moves to T1 to be near its OW partners, maybe they will make a connection. Though I don't get the point to moving because AA treats SFO more as a destination rather than a place to connect.
