I feel your pain. We did YYC-YVR-HKG-BKK earlier this year. The YVR-HKG flight was delayed coming from YYZ due to baggage loading equipment problems. This meant we missed our connection in HKG and had to take a later TG flight from HKG-BKK. Missed our valentine's day meal reservation in BKK and just to rub salt in the wound have received no award miles for the different flight despite trying the AE site method and then physically mailing the TG HKG-BKK stub to AE.

So due to AC equipment problems, AE gets out of paying out status miles for HKG-BKK? Nice. Stay classy Aeroplan...
