Since many of you have traveled much more than I, I figured Id ask for a critique of my plans. Using a combo of BA and AA miles

DFW-SFO-HKG-DBX-JNB-MAD----train----FRA-DFW

So Im going to a wedding in April in South Africa...figured Id make it an around the world trip...below is for two of us to fly:

DFW - SFO on AA in coach 20,000 avios + $10
SFO - HKG on CX in F 210,000 avios + $305
HKG - DBX on Emirates in coach $1340 and continues to JNB with 24 hour stopover (want to see the sights)
DBX-JNB on Emirates in coach
JNB - MAD on Iberia in Business 100,000 avios + $629
Train through Europe to FRA over 5 days
FRA-DFW on AA 40,000 points + $250

Any suggestions to make this better? Total is $2534 + 330,000 avios + 40,000 AA
