I'm spending a couple of days in Munich before traveling down to Switzerland. Stuttgart is on the train route. Just wondering if it's worth a stop in - for a few hours for lunch and a quick walk around en route, or would getting there late the night before and having the whole morning there be better? Alternatively I can not stop there, and take an early train to maximize daylight hours throught eh Alps (via Visp, not Lausanne).

Just plan on walking around, browsing neighborhoods, exploring the local beer and food!

If Stuttgart is worth a quick stop - any suggestions of a bar/restaurant for some decent German food not very far from the Hbf?
