So, I send this note happily from home. I did make my connection (FRA to SFO to LAX) in SFO but just barely. I was in the upper deck on UA 901 and had a nice flight. We got to the gate about 5 minutes early.

I got off the plane right away and was at baggage claim in 10 minutes. So as predicted, immigration was a non-issue.

Then the wait. I waited for over 60 minutes for my bag. I then ran to security and found the "Premier line" was huge. By this time, my flight to LAX was boarding.

I got out of line and went to the agent and showed her my pass. Sweet. She let me in front. Then I got behind a family with teenagers. Every one of them had an issue: laptop covered by jacket and shoes; belt; water bottle. You name it.

Finally when I go through with all my electronics (9 bins!) :-p, they want to do a swab and rerun of my EMPTY case.

The at least there was sunshine: my gate was 75 right next to security. Got on board and was able to get my carry on stowed with 5 minutes to spare.

Then?

They had to wait for other passengers and bags so we ended up leaving 15 minutes or so late. Still hit LAX on time. And then the LAX luggage gods were kind: my bag came off #3.

Bottom-line: you never have enough time if you check a bag. At least I'm done for the year.

All in all, my problems we're non-problems--except for ripping my jeans from the crotch down my leg some how as I got my bag in SFO! :-p

Good thing I listened to my mother and wore clean underwear! Red for the holidays (yes TMI I know).
