I don't understand what you are giving Kudos for...? Your success rate has nothing to do with the fact that there is now electronic certs vs. paper certs. In fact, your chance of success is probably less now than if you were diligient enough to bring your certs to the airport w/ you in the prior system... especially when knowing the old midnight 7-day rule upgrade call.
I give kudos because I've sat up front more than I have in previous years. As someone who's travel policy only allows me to buy T+ fares, and primarily TATL/TPAC, SWUs and NAUs were completely useless to me. As such, I'd only get 6 or 7 upgrades a year under the old system. This year, I'm at 10, and probably 11 before I'm done.
