While not labeled a "tax", the resort "fee" is similar in that it is a deceptive way to screw both those using points, who have to pay these regardless, plus the fact that they can advertise lower rates and then tack on surcharges.

When I flew from MCO to Nassau, Bahamas, the flight taxes were more than the rate. And the hotels tacked on fees for everything you can imagine.
