This is the crux of my issue with the upgrade program at Starwood properties. I checked in to a hotel last night, been there 5 times this year. The FDC welcomed me to my Club floor room. I was in a combative mood which is unusual so I dared to ask about suites. This particular property has lots of suites and of course after I was glared at I was told that yes indeed, there were a number of junior suites available. Why should I have to ask? Why isn't it automated? Why does the customer have to intervene and grovel for something that they are entitled to and is one of the most widely advertised benefits of being Platinum in the SPG program?
