Wow, this generated a lot more responses than I thought. I'm a long time reader, first time poster.

Honestly I thought I was fairly knowledgeable about the whole process but after reading your messages and all the acronyms I'm going to have to do a little research .

I went back out of security and got put on the standby list for the next flight, and came back in. Right now I'm #1 standby on the 7:45am departure and sitting at the gate. With any luck I will make it. If I don't I will start researching options and calling customer service.
