Agree 100%. However, I have experienced that I clicked standby on the kiosk, but wasn't on the standby list at the gate.

I also have One time experience in SFO, that a male GA didn't allow me to even standby at 1 hour mark! He said the flight will be full, and I will not get any seat, I wasted 5 mins with him, then I went to AC, the aangel put me on standby, and of course the standby cleared! When I was boarding the gate, looked at him, he gave me a hatred eye.
