I am not sure whether I can agree with this suggestion.

Unlike many other Starwood hotels, this lounge does not have a proper check-in desk though they have the facility to facilitate check-in. During most of the day, the lounge also appear to be staffed by relatively junior staff . I don't think you would stand a better chance of an upgrade here, though I also do not believe you would be at a disadvantage.
