AA has one of the oldest - if not the oldest - airline IT systems; it just can't keep up with it all. We know that - from reading FT, so we know to call when these things happen.
We can hope that in some future (not to distant, one hopes,) HP JetStream is implemented and allows a much better system, but for now it is what it is.

thanks for the input and advice. i must say that this is probably the most disappointing way to have my first EXP flight go after being told i'd be switched to the new status. I didn't do all that flying this year only to be let down on the 1st EXP segment!
