Unfortunately (at least according to a different EXP agent), once the check in process has started the problem can't be fixed. Having a bad EXP agent, who tells people it is done without doing it, is a real problem.
That is why FT wisdom over the years and not just for AA but other FFPs has stated call in and have the PNRs refreshed for status change as soon as the change occurs. @:-)
FT 101 states if you do not get a correct answer call again. Except for a mistake fare where 101 states "Do not call" @:-)
