The reason that this should not have been done is because there is a fire risk as the lights get very hot and the paper could have caught on fire.
You can turn normally turn off any of the reading lights at the panel in the CSD’s office, you do this by selecting the zone and turning all reading lights to off and then back to normal which gives each customer the option of switching the light on.
If a reading light doesn’t work it is often the bulb that needs changing and this can only be done by our ground engineers.
