I don't understand why this should not have been done? If I don't want my light and they switch it off (or make it invisible) than surely that's
great customer service!
Obviously this isn't a solution, but the issue can be recorded in the logbook and (hopefully) be dealt with by an engineer at the destination. Why would you leave a passenger unhappy when there is such an easy workaround?
Genuinely bewildered now on what you think is wrong with that?
