My 2 pesos worth . . .

In threads about lack of PDB, some FAs seem to think that if a bottle of water is at your seat - you're good. I have said before, that, while I'm always grateful for an UG, and PDB isn't a huge issue for me, if you have just paid big bucks for your ticket, IT IS A BIG DEAL! The entire perception of the "F" product suffers!

Let's face it, flying today, in Y, is just about the same level as riding on Greyhound. Flying in F is <maybe> one notch higher on the food chain, but due to free UGs, domestic US airlines have simply made F, a Y product with a little sugar coating. Foreign airlines really seem to be able to "put on the ritz" for upper classes, and probably would be less likely to have FAs be seen parading their meals through the cabin.

That said, I'll NEVER FORGET on a NW flight - - While we were still parked at the gate, the "F" - FA was unwrapping the plastic from each F meal (I guess to save time later). After each "unwrap", he placed the open, unwrapped tray of food ON THE FLOOR before he put them back on the cart! I KID YOU NOT!!!

This, I believe truly is tacky!

The perception of FAs carrying their lunch to the back - - eh - FUGGEDABOUDIT!
