Consider the alternative. F pax denied choice of meals due to not being his/her choice left. Notes 2 trays with "chicken" on them. Asks FA "what about one of those?" FA responds "crew meal". FT never hears the end of it.

Usually 2 work the front cabin while drinks are being served and food orders taken. Once the drinks are out, one of them goes back to coach to speed up the service back there.
