Ahem, not quite. I remember similar fares in the '90s when BA were anxious to put bums on seats after a period of, er, 'issues' with their employees.
Then there was the 'personal' letter from Lord King offering a twofer for next to nothing, which we accepted. (Pity that our LGW-JFK had additional unannounced stops in GLA outbound and BHX inbound and that they lost our bag outbound, but it was after 9/11 and it was good to be flying.)
