The AAA discount is against a Hertz rate, not a discounted Orbitz rate. They are not saying it's 15% off any other price out there (or up to 15%). It's possible the Orbitz rate is the same discount as the AAA one.
It is not AAA, it is AA (American Airlines). The price for 1week in Feb for Group A Toyota Yaris Automatic was 285.62 Australian Dollar - both via the "Up to 15% off" on AA and on Orbitz (regular rate - nothing about a discount).

I tried what you suggested - on Hertz.com (USA website). This is totally not relevant - the price I got is 997.77 AUD, i.e. almost X4 more !!

I then tried on Hertz Australia website, and it is 307.32 AUD. This is in line of what you ( cordelli ) wrote: 7% discount.

But, I personally (and I think many others) look at Orbitz as a site to compare List prices.
