I can save you some time, rather than waste time and resources checking to see if it's available, just assume it isn't. Chances are in your favor that it won't be and you can thank me later for saving you those few precious moments (they add up).

I flew over 60 segments this year and only had wi-fi 5 or 6 times. Every time I takeoff/land, I count the bubbles on the planes and have never had it exceed 30% of the total planes on the ground. Typically, it's closer to 10% of the planes on the ground have it.
