Your experience sounds similar to mine. Tried to make reservation - before completion received "Technical Difficulties- Try Again Later". Tried again later and received same message. On logging out saw they had extracted points twice from my account. PC customer service said phone Hotels Anywhere - tried 3 times, twice after being passed on multiple times the call was dropped. Other time was told I called wrong number - asked for right number - and was given number I had just dialed, then sent on and dropped again.
Told PC who said they'd deal with it. On requesting progress report 2 weeks later they said be patient we're dealing with it. Further 4 weeks later asked for update and was told they couldn't help and given another phone number at Hotels Anywhere. At this number they said couldn't help they only supported AMEX.
So 36k points out, wasted $'s on several international calls. Cant work out if its fraud or complete incompetence. Time to report this to FTC and OFT.
In mean time switched to laterooms.com
