Not very closely related, but as variously a 1P on US stock for UA and a CO*G on US stock for CO, once I could actually get on the various upgrade lists, my priority was as expected. (I.e. #5 out of #32 :-))

Being on US stock isn't much worse than, say, being on CO codeshares for UA metal flights on CO stock. The only real difference is that you have to find a US ticket counter if you want a printed copy of your receipt, and you would have to deal with US in the event of cancellations/reschedulings of flights before departure.

Flying UA flights on CO stock has been miserable for me this year. Doesn't really seem worth the $50 I saved.
