Just curious, what kind of incentives? Throw me 10k EQM for gate checking a bag and I'll gate check every time!

I see nothing wrong with the enforcement but it should be consistent across the system. DFW does seem to be the most strict in enforcing carry-on bags compared to other airports, whether it is bringing more than 2 items aboard or oversized bags.
