Mrs. and I will be doing the Fall Foliage thing during the last week of September. We want information about the US-Canada border crossing for Derby Line, Vt. and Stanstead, Qc including the situation with the Haskell Free Library and Opera House.
I have read some articles that it can take a while to cross the border on Interstate 91 and Main Street in Derby Line. Additionally, I want to know the status of the Library and Opera House and whether or not both sides of the border in this building are open to US Citizens.
I have looked at the Library site and have read about the border crossings, including the unguarded streets, and I find nothing to indicate that there is a problem with the Library. It seems the Interstate and Main Street Border Crossings can be a challenge with regards to the wait periods, and crossing at the unguarded points on Maple, Church, and Lee Street can get one in a bit of trouble.
We have crossed into Canada at several border points between Washington and British Columbia and between Michigan and Ontario. We have never run into any problems or long delays.

However, our last crossings were over one year ago. It is my understanding that things have changed.
My wife and I are both US Citizens, and we both have valid US Passports. We plan to be in the area sometime between September 26 and 29, and we and will be doing our border crossing in the middle of the day.
As always, thank you very much in advance. We do appreciate the assistance.
