Why do you believe this hotel treats diamonds well? What did they do special for you (since all the rooms are the same)? During my stay, I wasn't pre-blocked, and by the time I checked-in they had sold-out of my room preference.

Not to pile on, but I think this hotel is the dirtiest, most in-need-of-renovation Hyatt Place I've stayed in yet! The parking lot is very difficult to find, the carpeting in the rooms is gross and desperately needs to be replaced (stains in multiple places), the HVAC unit is propped-up to bed-level on the second floor (so avoid the 2nd floor at all costs!) and is also the loudest of any HP's I've stayed in--which is saying something! Also, the tvs are the oldest HDTVs I've seen in the chain (and had several dead pixels).

I will say that I agree with the OP that the location is convenient to NYC, if that's your next-day destination. There are also restaurants & shopping within walking distance of the hotel. Personally though, the only time I envision staying at this hotel again is if there is a FFN promo and/or I need a Hyatt mattress run.
