For a moment I thought these statements were contradictory....

I admit, I'll use CE Space sometimes when flying whY. - Never had a problem though since I would use the overhead over an (empty) Row 4 when seated in Row 5, being the last Passenger to board. Not actually taking away premium PAX space.

Despite the fact that there has been the odd occasion where I've been carrying too much myself (shopping at T5 HMV anyone?) I do appreciate and welcome those changes.

As a matter of fact, I always wonder why some people aren't stopped at Security already?! I tend to get frustrated when I see people with Handbags that are larger than my IATA Carryon... + Rollaboard + Backpack, or those with 95+L Hiking Rucksacks that hardly fit in a whole overhead bin). And if your Laptop Bag has wheels, it means it's your carry-on, not your personal item.

The rules are clear and should be enforced. I don't want BA to (have to) go down the LCC route and prohibit a personal item (which, as most people also ignore, should fit and go under your seat).

We're now in peak hand baggage season (Large coats, presents) and this is a great move...
