This one is scary. I had opened a thread in "dollar" forum regarding this same question. I booked a car through dollar in Christmas timeframe when every other rental company was sold out. Next day dollar also shows sold out. I changed my plans based on this reservation (paying fees) and I hope I've car there to begin my vacation. What are your options when something like this happens?

I'm not aware that the rental companies pick up the cab bill or what not.. But heard that rental companies don't do that.. just have to pick up when one is available..
