OP, you have to consider what your priorities are. What are the Plat benefits that you are enjoying the most? Lounge access / priority boarding / bonus miles? Think of maximizing what's important for you.

I would say so. If you are based in the US then you get more benefits as a SM member. In case of IROPS you are treated better and when you do encounter other issues DL will work with you if you are a medallion. If you are a FB elite nobody will care about anything. The downside is that SkyPesos have limited use. You should be able to use them for US domestic flights; int'l flights can be tricky.
