Also late, but another budget friendly option is a Caribbean cruise. You might have some spring break stereotypes associated with it. However, I found it to be a great vacation for the super-busy person who needs a "beach bum vacation" or some serious down time. Celebrity Solstice class is a nice way to go for a low key cruise with some dressing up for dinner if desired. Royal Caribbean Allure and Oasis are a little more active and have good entertainment.

I'm all for exploratory vacations but sometimes I need down time to recharge my batteries. A cruise pretty much feeds you, transports you, and you have a room to nap in any time you want. And almost every day you wind up somewhere different.
