One recent flight out of MCO and the announcement went on for at least 3 to 4 minutes, including repeated instructions to get a form from "this flights crew", or to "make sure this flights crew re-validates" any applications found in seat pockets or in the Sky magazine. Clearly the F/A's have some kind of bonus or commission incentive, but as a customer, having excessive announcements is intrusive and inappropriate.
It definitely appears that there is some kind of bonus for the crew.
The appealing is incessant for the first 3-4-5 minutes of the announcements.
It is happening on almost every flight that I have traveled in the last 3-4 months.
The most hilarious incidents are when I receive emails from DL.com addressed to my 3 year old grandson offering him an DL AMEX!
Surely even if this automated that there is some kind of age filter, before such emails go out.
