We now want to go for both nights, but the rates have risen.
Should I call and have them hook together the 2 nights, or tell them when we check in? In either case will they charge me the now-higher rates?
Would I call Reservations or the hotel itself to do this if calling ahead of time is the best way to go?
just call the hotel and let them know or you can do so when you check in. all they need to do is preblock you in the same room for both nights and check you out then back in for the 2nd night. There is no such thing as linking/"hooking" reservations together. It's just a matter of preblocking you in the same room so you don't have to move.
